THANK YOU FOR 26 AMAZING YEARS!

A Few Words On Our Closure From Our Founder Michael Kolar

The saying commonly attributed to Goethe “be bold; and mighty forces shall come to your aid” probably describes the story of Soundscape better than I can. Twenty six years of working with some of the best artists in the world and engineering some of their most dynamic work has been both one of the highest blessings and hugest responsibilities. To be trusted in the artists' mind is an obligation I don’t take lightly, but I feel the time has come to focus on my own. To that end, I have decided to close Soundscape Studios at the end of 2022. Soundscape was purpose built to be of service to an artist’s dreams, that’s the whole damn point of a studio in my opinion. But after twenty six years I feel the time has come to step back, rest, refresh my perspective and relationship with record making to make sure I am still of best and highest use to an artist’s dreams, and to my own.

To thank everyone correctly would take a lifetime, so I will just leave it as thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of Soundscape all these years. It is truly the artistic community that made Soundscape what it was, and it was the greatest honor of a lifetime to serve it these last twenty six years.

This went beyond my wildest imaginations, thank you.

Michael Kolar
